xAbove is an aerial view of the motor car shop as it appears today. This is from the Shelby County Register of Deeds Web Site.
The Memphis Motor Car Shop was charged with the repair of Motor Cars and other equipment used by the Maintenance of Way Department. These pictures were taken of the original facility after the shop had been relocated to Johnston Yard. These buildings are located south of South Yard between the City Main and the Y&MV. The buildings have not been razed. The viaduct in the background is Third Street. I don't have the dates of these photos or know when the Shop was relocated.
