Returning from the ICHS Annual Meeting in New Orleans on September 24th, 2000, my scanner came to life as the City of New Orleans was pulling out of the Crescent City. The dining car discovered that there was no coffee on board! The day was saved when arrangements were made to have the Southbound City of New Orleans stop alongside the Northbound City (spotted dining car to dining car) and transfer the vital commodity. The Northbound City is on the left, the Southbound on the right. The after dinner cup of coffee was particularly good that evening!
